Making Time To Design

We have been very busy here at Becky Broome HQ with lots going on, including, hand printing our latest Proverbs range to meet orders from new and existing trade customers :)

I have also been working on some new product lines and new designs which will be launched to trade in July.  My goal this year is to become more organised with designing and producing new ranges.  Usually, we can be a little last minute and it can become quite stressful, so I am taking some time earlier on in the year to be creative.  All I can say is we have some very exciting developments in the pipeline!

Gilpin Lodge

I mentioned in an earlier blog that my family had booked for Kristian and I to stay at the Gilpin Lodge in the Lake District for my birthday treat.  One word ... BLISS!  This was our room, a junior suite called 'Troutbeck' which had the most fabulous terrace with spectacular views.  From the moment we arrived, we were looked after by all of the wonderful staff and enjoyed a spectacular five course meal and a superb breakfast the following morning.  It was a fabulous retreat and was much needed after Spring Fair!  I've come back to work this morning feeling refreshed and relaxed. 

Spring Fair

Sorry for not posting for a while ... we have been hectic running up to and after Spring Fair. Here are some pics...

Bunting is a must have for the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics so we have created a simple yet luxury bunting in red, blue and cream to match our 'Proverbs' range.  The bunting will be available on the website soon.

We launched our new packaging at the show, recycled boxes tied with bakers twine.  The new boxed aprons and tea towels will make perfect gifts!  They were a real success at the show and will be available on the website soon.

Birthday Weekend

I have just come home from an amazing weekend in the Lake District - where I was celebrating my birthday!  Saturday's weather was glorious so we went on a walk to enjoy the fresh air and breathtaking views of the snowy fells.

We enjoyed gorgeous meals and several glasses of bubbly!  My birthday cake was beautiful - lemon sponge with lemon curd and buttercream - mmmmmmm!

My gifts included several Eve Lom products (my favourite!) and a weekend getaway for Kristian and I to stay at the Gilpin Lodge - a luxury country house hotel in the Lake District!  I am sure it will be much needed after Spring Fair!

I'm going to have the weekend off (well most of it anyway!) and try to rest in preparation for the chaotic madness that is preparing, packing and working at Spring Fair.  After Sunday, I won't have a day off for another 12 days!

Busy Busy

After a hectic run up to Christmas, Kristian and I managed to take a week off to enjoy the festivities and have a well earned rest!  However, since starting back, we have been very busy bees!  We finalised the designs for our new Valentine's range and got busy in the print studio.  The collection includes, gift bag sets, gift tags and cupcake toppers!  They are perfect for adding that finishing touch to your Valentine's Day gift!
